Tile and grout cleaning is a very simple process. Clean the area with the help of a cleaning agent; let the area dry, and then apply a grout sealant. There are many tile and grout cleaning products available. In most cases, these cleaners can be found in one package itself. Sounds easy, Right? Follow the instructions on the label for cleaner tile and grout. Cleaning agents that need to be left on for some time are always better than the ones that have to be wiped off immediately.
Sounds too good to be true. Usually is.
Remove Superficial Dirt
Wipe the area clean with a dry cloth to remove all superficial and loose dust and dirt.
Apply the Cleaning Agent
It doesn’t matter what cleaning agent you are using, the next step is to apply it. For commercially available tile and grout cleaners, be sure to read the instructions given on the label. If you’re using your own homemade solution, simply apply it to the dirty area. Wait for some time after applying the cleaning agent. Waiting times will differ depending on the products used. For those you buy, check the label.

Scrub and Clean
Using a Brass scrub brush and sponge, clean the entire area. Use the Brass brush to clean the grout, and the sponge to clean the tiles. Thoroughly rinse the entire area with water.
Grout and Tile Cleaning Products
Oxy Bleach is ideal for removing mildew and fungi from the grout and is good against grout that emanates a foul odor.
Soapy Water: Sometimes all you need to do is give your tile and grout a good scrub. Soak the scrub brush in warm soapy water, and give the area a good cleaning.
Baking Soda: Sprinkle baking soda on dampened tile and grout. Let it sit for a while, and then simply use a brush to clean the area.
Hydrogen Peroxide: Hydrogen peroxide is ideal for cleaning ceramic tile and grout. Spray some peroxide on the area, and then mop or scrub. If the stains are really stubborn, hydrogen peroxide can be mixed with baking soda. Do not use peroxide with bleach.
Vinegar: Another great grout and tile cleaning agent is vinegar. Apply some vinegar on the area, scrub it, and then wash it off. Use vinegar with baking soda for tough stains.
Glass-Top Stove Cleaner: You can use your stove cleaner for cleaning grout and tile. Apply it, scrub and then wash it off.
Maintenance
To maintain your tile floors, be sure to clean up any liquid spills as soon as possible. Ceramic tile is waterproof if it is grouted and sealed, but the potential for stains will increase if it liquid is allowed to sit too long. You will also need to reseal and possibly re-grout when you start noticing frequent stains from regular use.
